Music entered my life at the age of 5 in the form of singing lessons. My parents insisted i explore music, dance & theater. While i still appreciate all forms of artistic expression, it seems that those early music lessons had the biggest impact. For that and much more, i will always be grateful to my parents. Thanks guys.
At age 13, i found my brother’s old guitar, long abandoned in a storage closet. It became an obsession for me and an unfortunate annoyance for my enduring sisters. It wasn’t long before my parents realized that for the good of the family, i should get lessons. My first electric guitar arrived as a gift from My grandparents, whom without i would not be who i am today. I spent the next 10 years studying musical theory and guitar under private instruction with Gill Francoeur and Jazz virtuoso, Federico Penserini.
Throughout my career, I have been blessed to have both written and performed for other artists, as well as provided soundtracks for live theater and television commercials. In 2006 I co-founded the Indie Rock group Brewchad, who realeased its debut album “You That I Lost”, in 2008. In 2009 Brewchad was ranked a top 10 Montreal band by both “Land Mark Entertainment” and “Omnium du Rock”. We were later voted artist of the week by Belgium’s GloomMusic. by 2010 we were in regular rotation with stations such as Vancouver’s “Canadian Music Radio” and Florida’s “Butterfly Radio”. The group was published by newspapers such as “Le Soleil”, “le Courrier Ahuntsic” and twice featured on the cover of “The Suburban” for its performances in venues such as Montreal’s “Club Soda”, “International” and “Olympia”. In June of 2011 Brewchad placed 8th in the Canadian tier of international music festival “Emergenza”.
As i continue my career, it is still my family who inspire me. It is my wife and son who animate my music with marriage and parenting being the main focus. The reception to my solo work has been heartening, as without listeners, we are just trees falling in the forest.
